CIVIL ACTION

The mission of Civil Action in North Lebanon is to hold politicians accountable, to follow up with good governance and to claim for the priorities in town. Our first campaign for peace and reconciliation led us to make this coalition. Lately, we kicked off the Solid Waste Sorting Initiative including a campaign to find out a sustainable solution for the mount of waste in the city. We cooperate with the Municipalities of Al Fayhaa Cities on the following issues: Traffic congestion, Generator fees as set by the Ministry of Energy, sustainable power supply solutions as a major tool to attract investors, not to forget conserving local Monuments as a legacy that promotes tourism and development. We organize gatherings, lectures & conferences to raise awareness and mobilize public opinion. We face major challenges because of the lack of much-needed reforms, the tense relationship between the political establishment and civil society, building democracy, the need for balanced development.
